Heal, Reconnect, and Grow Together Through Family Therapy

Family Therapy for Children & Adult Children

Attachment-Focused Family Counseling to Rebuild Trust and Connection

At our trauma therapy clinic, we offer family therapy for children, teens, and adult children to help families heal relationship wounds, improve communication, and restore emotional connection. Whether you're a parent struggling to connect with a young child, navigating conflict with your adult child, or facing family stress due to trauma or life transitions—we’re here to help.

Our trauma-informed family therapy supports families in understanding each other more deeply and creating new, healthy patterns rooted in safety, empathy, and emotional regulation.

What is Family Therapy?

Family therapy is a powerful form of counseling that addresses the emotional and relational dynamics between family members. We specialize in attachment-based family therapy that helps caregivers and children of all ages repair disconnection and build more secure, supportive relationships.

Our Family Therapy Approach

We use a combination of developmentally-informed and trauma-sensitive modalities to support healing and reconnection:

🔹 Attachment-Based Family Therapy

We help families recognize how attachment styles and early relational experiences are affecting current dynamics—especially in cases involving trauma, neglect, or loss. This approach is effective for both young children and adult children working to heal intergenerational wounds.

🔹 Play Therapy for Families

Play therapy is a developmentally appropriate tool that allows children to express their inner world when words aren’t enough. It also gives parents insight into their child’s emotions, helping build trust, safety, and co-regulation.

🔹 Sandtray Therapy for Children and Adults

Sandtray therapy is a nonverbal, creative approach that allows individuals to process trauma and express complex emotions through symbolic storytelling. It's beneficial for both children and adults, especially in family systems where trauma has gone unspoken.

🔹 ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)

ACT therapy supports each family member in identifying personal values, developing emotional flexibility, and taking intentional steps toward healing. It’s especially helpful when working with adolescent and adult children in family therapy.

Family Therapy Can Help With:

  • Parent-child conflict and emotional disconnection

  • Trauma-related behaviors in children or teens

  • Family communication issues with adult children

  • Adoption, foster care, and early attachment challenges

  • Blended family transitions or co-parenting struggles

  • Grief, loss, and trauma within the family system

  • Rebuilding trust and closeness after estrangement

Why Choose Out Trauma- Informed Family Therapy?
