Courtney Loyola Headshot

Courtney Loyola, MA, LPC is the owner and founder of Onyx Counseling and Wellness Center, a trauma-focused practice created to provide a safe, validating, and specialized space for individuals healing from complex trauma and narcissistic abuse. Since entering the mental health field in 2012, she has worked across multiple settings including schools, hospitals, community mental health, long-term care, and addiction treatment, giving her extensive experience supporting individuals through a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges.

In 2019, she founded Onyx Counseling and Wellness Center with a clear mission: to fill a significant gap in trauma treatment for survivors of narcissistic abuse and relational trauma. As both a clinician and survivor herself, she understands firsthand how often this form of abuse is minimized, misunderstood, dismissed, or overlooked. She recognized the need for a therapeutic space where survivors could feel believed, supported, and empowered in their healing journey.

Her work specializes in complex trauma, narcissistic abuse recovery, grief and loss, attachment wounds, and rebuilding identity after emotionally abusive relationships. She is passionate about helping clients understand the deeper “why” behind unhealthy relationship patterns, trauma responses, self-abandonment, and difficulties with boundaries and self-worth. Her approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and rooted in helping clients move from survival mode into healing, clarity, empowerment, and authenticity.

She offers narcissistic abuse recovery workshops designed to provide education, insight, and healing in a supportive community environment. Her signature four-hour workshop, “How Did I Get Here?”, helps survivors explore the underlying patterns, wounds, attachment dynamics, and trauma responses that can contribute to becoming trapped in narcissistically abusive relationships. The workshop focuses not on blame, but on understanding, self-compassion, and breaking cycles to create healthier relationships moving forward. The next workshop date is currently TBD.

Her vision for Onyx Counseling and Wellness Center continues to be rooted in creating a space where survivors feel safe, seen, validated, and equipped with the tools needed to heal and reclaim their lives.

"I believe that all humans are interconnected beings, constantly being influenced by the past, present, and desire for the future. Current thoughts, emotions and behaviors are influenced by past events (good and bad), and people operate according to deeply ingrained patterns."
